Dr. Tim Kavanaugh is one of Alaska's leading hip and knee surgeons and performs some 200 hip replacements each year. He offers the newer anterior approach technique, which has proven to be less painful and enable quicker patient recovery with minimal or no post-surgery restrictions. Dr. Kavanaugh’s experience, board certification and fellowship training have combined to make him an authority on primary and revision hip and knee replacement.
After graduating from Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, IL, Dr. Kavanaugh completed his orthopedic residency training at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, OH. He received fellowship training in total joint replacement at the New Mexico Center for Joint Replacement Surgery in Albuquerque, NM. He has practiced orthopedic surgery since 2002.
